MerleFest is all about the music, memories, and moments and there is no question if the weekend was full of those things or not. Because they most definitely were!

Every MerleFest is different, sort of. The headliners may change, but MerleFest still holds true to it’s beliefs.

MerleFest isn’t a bluegrass festival, or a country music festival, or a folk festival. MerleFest is exactly what Doc Watsonwanted. A traditional plus festival. This term “traditional plus” allows for much more than just Sam Bush, or just Donna the Buffalo. It allows for the eclectic Waybacks, the rock n’ roll band Wayland, and veteran “greats” like Jim Lauderdale.

This was a huge theme at MerleFest (especially in press conferences). It was recognized that MerleFest is different, it is important, it is fun, it is family
